According to Kotaku (<---link to article), the speedrun race for Oblivion QA(quality assurance) between a QA member and a developer was only 1 hour 15 minutes and for Skyrim it was 2 hours 16 minutes.
Hopefully that is an indication of how long and/or big Skyrim will be.
