Xbox One update releasing today, features

• A new Media Player app: Play media files from an attached USB device with the new media player app – DNLA support for home media servers coming soon. Xbox One will support more formats than Xbox 360, including support for dozens of new file formats like Mpeg 2 TS, animated gifs and MKV, which will be added by the end of the year.

• Party on in the new and improved Party App: Be the leader of your party with the new party leader setting. As the party leader, you can change whether the party requires invitations and you can remove others from the party. The updated app also lets you see what activities everyone in your party is doing and who is playing in the same game with you in addition to being able to quickly perform common actions like muting, joining, or sending game invites.

• New features for SmartGlass: You can now post status messages from the Activity Feed and comments, or share items from both your Activity Feed and Game Clips. Along with the new comment and share features, a personalized Activity Feed has been added to your profile and messages have been updated to a new layout supporting a full conversation view. Additionally, we are adding the ability to record game clips directly from the Now Playing bar. Finally, for users who upgrade the app directly, we have introduced a What’s New page highlighting the features of each release.

• “Xbox On” capabilities in Australia, Canada (French), Italy, Spain, and Mexico: New regions will have the ability to use the “Xbox On” Kinect voice command to power on their consoles when they’re in connected standby (Instant On) mode.
• OneGuide comes to Brazil, Mexico, Austria, and Ireland: The ability to configure live TV listings will be available to all customers in these four countries. Also coming to these markets is the ability to use OneGuide and the Universal Remote Control in SmartGlass.

• Boot to TV: Now Xbox One owners will be able to set their console to boot directly to television when coming out of connected standby.

• Bandwidth Usage Display: Bandwidth Usage will show users how much bandwidth their Xbox One is consuming over a period of time, a useful tool for those who want to track against bandwidth caps set by ISPs in certain markets.

• GameDVR deletes: Users will be able to choose multiple GameDVR clips to delete at once in the Upload app.

• Save your Avatar Gamerpic: A new option to save Avatar Gamerpics to users’ OneDrive.

"New" Nintendo 3DS announcement

"Nintendo Co., Ltd. will launch “New Nintendo 3DS” and “New Nintendo 3DS XL” on October 11, 2014 in Japan, at the suggested retail prices of 16,000 yen and 18,800 yen (prices not including consumption tax), respectively. The systems will be the newest members of the Nintendo 3DS family, the sales of which in Japan alone are estimated to already top 16 million units to date.
The new C-Stick, ZL button and ZR button, which will enhance the play controls of the existing Nintendo 3DS hardware, have been added, and the new “Super-Stable 3D” function will provide players with an even more comfortable 3D gaming experience. Furthermore, the new “NFC feature” will enable the use of the “amiibo™” on Nintendo 3DS.
As for “New Nintendo 3DS,” the LCD screens are bigger than those of the existing Nintendo 3DS, and the exterior design of the hardware can be customized simply by exchanging the “Cover Plates,” which will be sold separately.
As for the overseas markets, our local subsidiaries will separately confirm. However, there will be no U.S. and European launches this calendar year."

The hardware (CPU, etc.) will also be more powerful, even though it doesn't mention that. Also, the "Super-Stable 3D" will increase the viewing angle of the 3D as of now. The internet browser will also support HTML5 and have a "filter" for a "children mode" already in place and have to be removed by linking a credit card with a fee of $0.29. The camera will also be better in low light situations.

Update: Micro SD cards will be supported. Will also be able to backup data on a PC over Wifi and as of right now the OS will need to be Windows 7 and 8.

14th August 2014 – Sonic the Hedgehog, one of the most recognisable figures in video game history will be speeding his way back to fans – both old and new – this November. Today SEGA announces that in Europe both Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric for Wii U developed by LA-based Big Red Button, and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for Nintendo 3DS developed by Sanzaru Games of San Francisco, will be released on 21st November.
Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal star the electrifying team – Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and newcomer Sticks – who will band together to defeat both familiar and new powerful enemies. The games are part of the brand-new Sonic Boom initiative, an all-new Sonic experience that will usher in new gameplay based on action-adventure combat, new characters and environments as well as new storylines that will carry through the franchise’s first CG-animated series.
