Rock Band Music Store Update 7/3


Cambridge, Mass. – June 29th, 2012– Harmonix today announced that tracks from The All-American Rejects, Mudvayne, and Rise Against are headed to the Rock Band™ Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii™.

Rock Band provides the deepest and best selection of artists, songs and albums through the Rock Band music platform, which features more than 1,400 artists and more than 3,500* tracks via disc and download purchase (complete list of tracks at www.rockband.com/songs). Rock Band’s gigantic music library dwarfs that of any other rhythm video game on the market. More than 100 million songs have been sold through the Rock Band Music Store since its launch on Nov. 20, 2007.

Tracks downloaded from the Rock Band Music Store are compatible with the award-winning full-band Rock Band 3 experience, as well as the upcoming controller-based Rock Band Blitz, coming summer of 2012 for Xbox LIVE® Arcade and PlayStation®Network!

Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii™

Harmonix is kicking off July with singles from The All-American Rejects, Mudvayne, and Rise Against!

“Gonzo,” from The All-American Rejects’ fourth studio album, 2012’s Kids in the Street, leads the singles offerings for the first week of July. “Happy?”, the second single from Mudvayne’s third album, 2005’s Lost and Found, will also be available, complete with an optional Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade. Finally, punk rockers Rise Against’s “Satellite,” the third single from 2011’s Endgame, caps off the offerings for this week.

Guild Wars 2 server stress test going on

I forgot to mention when this started 2 hours and 20 minutes ago that there is a server stress test for Guild Wars 2 going on now for another 1 hour and 40 minutes. It's still the same as the last Beta Weekend Event but they are just testing out the user load capacity for their servers.

The first country artist to win American Idol, Carrie Underwood has sold more than 14 million albums worldwide, earned five Grammys, and has topped the charts with 14 number one singles. On June 26th, one of the biggest names in modern country music returns to Rock Band with “Carrie Underwood Pack 01”!

“Before He Cheats,” the chart-topping single from Underwood’s 2005 album, Some Hearts, opens the pack. The highly successful crossover single garnered Underwood a number of awards, including two Grammys for “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” and “Country Song of the Year.”

The second song in the pack is “Cowboy Casanova” from her third studio album, 2009’s Play On. The track was another hit for Underwood, certified Platinum and reaching number one on Billboard’s Country Songs charts.

“Good Girl,” the lead single from Underwood’s most recent record, Blown Away, rounds out of the pack. This high-energy track, with its infectious sing-along chorus, swept the charts when it was released earlier this year, rocketing to the top of Billboard’s Country Songs charts. The track also netted Underwood the prestigious “Video of the Year” award at the CMT Music Awards earlier this month.

Larger Version of Nintendo 3DS System Launches Alongside New Super Mario Bros. 2 on Aug. 19

REDMOND, Wash.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– A big year for the Nintendo 3DS system is about to get even bigger. In a Nintendo Direct video on June 21, Nintendo revealed plans to launch Nintendo 3DS XL, a new version of Nintendo 3DS with 90 percent larger screens. The addition of “Drive” grows the library of Incubus tracks playable in Rock Band, which includes “Adolescents,” “Dig,” and “Wish You Were Here,” all available now on the Rock Band Music Store.

GUILDFORD, UK. — June 1, 2012 — Electronic Arts Inc. today revealed the games that will be shown during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) at the Los Angeles Convention Center (LACC) from June 5-7. The lineup features updates on some of the industry’s biggest franchises that span across all gaming platforms.

THE DOWNLOAD: EA 2012 Preview, EA’s E3 press briefing sponsored by Origin™, will feature leading EA brands: Battlefield 3TM, Medal of Honor ™ , Crysis ® 3, Madden NFL 13, FIFA 13, Star Wars™: The Old Republic™, SimCityTM and highly-anticipated first looks at Dead SpaceTM 3 and Need for SpeedTM Most Wanted from Criterion Games. The event will feature never-before-seen video and gameplay for the biggest titles EA will unveil this year as well as titles not yet announced, including a new social title for Facebook®. The briefing can be viewed live exclusively on SPIKE TV on Monday, June 4 at 4:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT or streamed at www.ea.com/e3.

Once revealed at the press briefing, E3 attendees will be able to demo the upcoming titles at booth #1601 at the LACC. Rock Band DLC Additions for Xbox 360, PlayStation®3 system and Wii™

Harmonix kicks off June’s Rock Band Music Store releases with a selection of three singles that assures there’s something for everyone when the tracks drop on June 5th.

“Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)” from alternative rock group Cracker kicks things off. The single comes from the band’s 1992 self-titled debut record, and peaked that year at number one on the Billboard U.S. Modern Rock Tracks.

When Florence + the Machine released their debut record, Lungs, in 2008, it quickly became one of the year’s most popular releases. “Dog Days Are Over,” the multi-platinum second single from Lungs, hits the Rock Band Music Store on June 5th.

Finally, Australia’s Midnight Oil makes their debut in Rock Band with ”Power and the Passion” the first single from the critically acclaimed 1982 record, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
