Myst 3D Press Release

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – (December 22, 2011) – The seminal fantasy-adventure title, Myst, is set to arrive as a major player in the Spring 2012 lineup of Nintendo 3DS™ releases, announced video game publishers Maximum Family Games (MFG) today. The story of Myst was first created as a computer game series nearly two decades ago by brothers Robyn and Rand Miller of Cyan, Inc.

The new Myst for Nintendo 3DS, developed by Hoplite Research, LLC, introduces the first-person fantasy universe to players not yet acquainted with the series, and gives veteran gamers extra content to explore with new landscapes and with the RIME Age added to enhance the Myst storyline. As in the original Myst, players will solve puzzles, explore their surroundings and interact with items and objects that deliver clues from which players must piece together answers in order to move ahead and solve the mysteries that lie within.

While Myst for Nintendo 3DS stays true to the original game’s model, the upcoming addition takes the classic journey to a new level with sharp 3D environments which even further transport players into the enigma the game creates.

“Myst is expected to be a big hit with Nintendo 3DS players,” said Len Ciciretto, President of MFG. ”It takes everything we all know and love about the Myst series and gives it a 3D facelift.”

The game begins as the book of Myst has just been finished and the reader finds himself in the unusual world described within the book’s pages. Exploration begins immediately, as players wander around in an attempt to figure out where they are, and more importantly, why they have landed on the cryptic island of Myst.

Myst features six worlds, including the RIME Age which was not part of the original release, and with a multitude of puzzles and clues to uncover, Myst offers hours of adventurous gameplay. “In 3D, each scene jumps from the screen and really puts the player in the game!” said Manny Granillo, President of Hoplite Research.

“The original Myst for PC systems was a groundbreaking game that brought the fantasy-adventure genre to mainstream casual gaming,” said Ciciretto. “The new Myst honors that history by reintroducing this well-known franchise to younger generations.”

Myst is set to release on March 27, 2012 on Nintendo 3DS. The game is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB. For more information, please visit www.maximumfamilygames.com.

One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special press release

21st December, 2011 – The Straw-Hat Pirates from the popular manga series One Piece are setting sail for Europe in 2012. Nintendo and NAMCO BANDAI today confirmed they have entered into a distribution agreement for the forthcoming game One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special, exclusive to Nintendo 3DS. Under the terms of the agreement Nintendo will be responsible for the sales, marketing and distribution of the game throughout European territories with NAMCO BANDAI remaining as publisher. One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special is scheduled for release across Europe on 10th February 2012.

One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special is a remake of the classic Wii game, One Piece Unlimited Cruise Part 1: Adventure Beneath the Waves. Enjoy the game and brand-new bonus material, including the new Marineford Mode, on your Nintendo 3DS for the first time.

Based on the popular manga and anime series, One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special brings Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw-Hat Pirates to Nintendo 3DS for the first time. The action-adventure game allows you to explore four strange islands, battling familiar One Piece enemies in real time. With over 50 hours of gameplay and brand new modes to master, fans of the series will have hours of fun. Battle enemies, collect items and create new useful tools from the things you find on the way to discovering the islands’ hidden mysteries.

As you explore the various islands you’ll be able to switch between each of the nine Straw-Hat Pirates at almost any time to best suit the situation. Each of the nine main characters has their own customisable controls and new attacks that can be unlocked as you progress through the game.

New to One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special, Marineford Mode allows you to take on the role of various characters in a series of one-on-one battles based on the events of the Marineford arc of the manga and anime. You can look forward to playing as some of your favourite characters and mastering each one’s unique and individual moves and abilities.

Make sure you snap up your copy of One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special early, as the first print run of the game will be bundled with a limited-edition collectable figurine of Portgas D. Ace. Grab a copy of One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special to find out about this character’s role in the game.

Take control of the Straw-Hat Pirates and explore the world of One Piece when One Piece Unlimited Cruise Special launches across Europe on 10th February exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.

Zelda Data Restoration Channel

NoJ (Nintendo of Japan) has released a "Zelda Data Restoration" Channel for Japanese Wii owners to fix a game breaking bug in Zelda: Skyward Sword. Starting yesterday, it is downloadable from the Wii Shop channel, hopefully this gets released in other areas too.

If you want to avoid the bug, or get the bug for some reason (maybe to confirm it's real), here is the steps that need to be taken to make the bug happen:

1. Go to Lanayru Desert and spead with Golo the Goron in Lanayru mine, before finishing the Thunder Dragon's event and again after receiving the Thunder Dragon's song.
2. Do the above before going to the volcano or forest areas.

To avoid the bug:
1. Get the Water AND Fire Dragon songs before getting the Thunder Dragon song.

If you do happen to encounter the bug, scripted events in the forest and volcano areas won't happen and you also won't be able to progress any further leaving you to either:

start from a previous save,

start over,

(Requires SD Card) download the Zelda Data Restoration channel (hopefully Nintendo releases it worldwide),

(Requires SD Card) search online for a save that doesn't have the bug.

Latest Installment to the Beloved Franchise Arriving in 2012 for the Nintendo 3DS™

LOS ANGELES and LONDON (Dec. 20, 2011) – Square Enix, Inc. and Square Enix Ltd., the publishers of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, Europe and across PAL territories, today announced fans of the popular KINGDOM HEARTS series will be able to experience a new 3-D adventure next year with the North American and European release of KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance], specifically for the Nintendo 3DS™ system.

The new game’s spectacular story promises to be a fun backdrop to the colorful cast of Disney characters making their 3-D debut on a handheld title. In addition to new worlds, KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance] will feature never-before-seen gameplay elements for the series.

“With the tenth anniversary of the series on the horizon, the current KINDGOM HEARTS saga is approaching its climactic conclusion. The story of this game will serve as the opening chapter of the final conflict, and, as always, will be full of surprises. In order to best implement this element of surprise and discover new realms of possibility, we have chosen Nintendo 3DS as our platform. With its revolutionary new game system, this title will not only be a bold, exhilarating tale of adventure, but also a first look into the future form of the KINGDOM HEARTS series,” said Tetsuya Nomura, director of KINGDOM HEARTS 3D [Dream Drop Distance].

Story
King Mickey and Yen Sid prepare for an impending threat by putting Sora and Riku through the Mark of Mastery exam. Sora and Riku are sent into the Sleeping Worlds, where they will face enemies and allies that have never been seen before. If they can successfully complete the task they are given, they will be deemed true Keyblade Masters.

Features
• Dual protagonists – Play as the two most popular characters of the franchise, Sora and Riku.

• “Free-flow” action – Enjoy fast and effortless movements while interacting with the environment and performing acrobatic attacks.

• Brand-new creatures –Dream Eaters inhabit the Sleeping Worlds, and are split into two categories: Spirits and Nightmares. Recruit over 50 different types of Spirits as allies to fight alongside Sora and Riku.

• New Disney worlds –Beloved Disney worlds and characters, such as La Cité des Cloches (The Hunchback of Notre Dame), make their series debut.

• Story progression – With updated looks for Sora and Riku, and the impending conflict made clear, this title is a big step forward in the series.

Club Nintendo update press release

Nintendo of America’s rewards program has announced a major overhaul of its website and the introduction of downloadable games for loyal Nintendo fans. Now, Club Nintendo™ members who earn enough Coins can redeem them for select downloadable Wii™ and Nintendo 3DS™ games. The revamped site offers members a streamlined online experience and more exciting ways to redeem Coins.

Starting today, Club Nintendo members can exchange 100 Coins for Super Mario Kart™ and 150 Coins for Fluidity on the Wii console. Normally these games are offered at 800 Wii Points™ and 1,200 Wii Points respectively, making this new offer a great value for members. Club Nintendo members also have the option of exchanging 100 Coins for 3D Classics: Xevious® and 150 Coins for Mario vs. Donkey Kong™: Minis March Again! for the Nintendo 3DS system. These two games normally sell for $5.99 and $7.99 respectively.

Members will notice the Club Nintendo website has been redesigned with a fun new look. In addition to new Coin-earning opportunities, Nintendo has added new Rewards, including Nintendo-themed notebooks and pen cases, plus a set of limited-edition posters honoring the 25th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda™. Members can also now register select Nintendo 3DS games from third-party publishers, so there are even more ways to earn Coins.

The current round of downloadable game offers will remain available to members through Jan. 10, and new offers will be announced next month. Club Nintendo will choose new games based on members’ feedback on available downloadable games, so they can expect to find more fun surprises in the future. To collect even more Coins, members are encouraged to look back into their library of games for Wii and the Nintendo DS™ family of systems and register those products on Club Nintendo.
